Just what is this car, When Chevy decided to bring back the Camaro SS after 24 years, they wanted to make it special, so they gave the green light to have the experts at SLP (Street Legal Performance) to modify it and that they did and in terms of domestic car makers in 1996 it was one of the baddest cars on the planet.
They started with a LT1 with an added oil cooler, tweaked the ECM and modified it with a functioning ram air hood induction and a very large stainless steel throaty exhaust so she could breath producing 305 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
To maintain traction, they stiffened the suspension and took a Torsen Torque-Sensing limited slip rear end feeding 275/40 R 17 tires over a foot wide on SS specific alloy rims.
To help it stop they added dual piston calipers with galvanized slotted rotors.
The outside sports a black roof with T-Tops, a integrated rear spoiler, with halogen mini quad headlamps & fog lamps, SS & SLP badging and a composite hood.
The interior boosts SS floor & hatch mats with the SS SLP build plaque Car # 1425 of 2263 total built, wow very low production and there isn't many left in this condition.
The car has power windows, seat, locks, mirrors, cruise, cold A/C, 2 sets of keys & remotes, manuals, SLP addendum.
I even got a poster of the car from a dealership showroom and tons magazine pictures & info.
I had service go thru this car and the only thing they could find wrong was a transmission mount and did a synthetic oil change, I have had the pleasure to drive it and it absolute blast and gets a ton of attention everywhere.
